Work experience and job skills
Idaho Conservation Corps (ICC) offers youth a unique work opportunity. Youth make new friends, camp out, travel to beautiful locations throughout the Mountain West, and get the chance to receive academic credit, while earning a stipend. Youth crews work approximately 37 hours per week. ICC workdays begin with the first light as crews of teens and experienced crew leaders develop recreation sites, improve wildlife habitats, and enhance natural resources through projects such as trail construction and tree pruning. Participants camp, cook their own meals, and learn outdoor skills, as they gain responsibility, enjoy outdoor recreation, and develop important life skills.

Visit your son or daughter in the field. Find Parent Weekend information, as well as weekly updates about your teen's crew, on our Field News page.
Youth participants earn a non-taxable education stipend. Bonuses are part of the education stipend and also non-taxable. Therefore, youth will not receive a W-2.
